Campbell Blogg returns to Melbourne United

Campbell Blogg is brought back for a third season as a development player for Melbourne United after an injury-interrupted 2024–25 campaign. He saw regular usage during the first two months of the season – including a performance of 5 points and 4 rebounds against the New Zealand Breakers in December – and then did not see the court again. Blogg has been recuperating through a stint with the Sandringham Sabres of the NBL1 South during the offseason where he has been averaging around 9 points a game.

Zylan Cheatham to Adelaide 36ers

The Adelaide 36ers recruit their third import and the eleventh player on their roster by signing Zylan Cheatham who spent last season in Japan. He is familiar to the NBL after playing for the New Zealand Breakers during the 2023–24 season where he averaged a formidable 15.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists. Cheatham decided to join the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins last season where he saw his scoring output and three-point shooting percentage drop but increased his rebounding and playmaking. He has admitted himself that it was a down year for him so he returns to the NBL in an attempt to return to form. Cheatham’s interview after his 36ers signing reveals that the 36ers attempted to sign him last season through a connection with head coach Mike Wells; the two were connected on the Utah Jazz when Cheatham was on a 10-day contract while Wells was an assistant coach in 2022. He reached out to Wells again after seeing the signings of Bryce Cotton and Montrezl Harrell take place and now the 36ers’ three imports form an incredible superteam. Cheatham is a high quality character who displays a strong all-around game and will be an great compliment to the 36ers’ existing offensively-minded line-up. The 36ers join the Sydney Kings as the two teams that have their fully-contracted rosters completed (barring Next Stars and development players).

Tom Koppens returns to Melbourne United

Like Blogg, Tom Koppens returns to Melbourne United for his third season as a development player. He appeared only sparingly last season but recorded 5 points and 9 rebounds against the Illawarra Hawks in December 2024 for a career-best game. Koppens also appeared – albeit sparingly – in three games during United’s championship series against the Hawks in March 2025 which he has cited as being a source of confidence for the upcoming season.
