Finally: a major week for signings with six taking place with varying degrees of prominence. The Sydney Kings secured their Finals MVP to ensure a rivalry maintains. The Tasmania JackJumpers brought back one of their import guards from last season and signed a collegiate graduate for his first professional stint. The Perth Wildcats locked up a promising local looking to bounce back after a lost season. Melbourne United also retain one of their local reserves.

Kendric Davis re-signs with Sydney Kings
Position: Guard
2025–26 statistics: 24.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.7 assists, .0 blocks, 1.1 steals, 47.5% field goal, 80.2% free throw
Announcement link
As proclaimed by Kendric Davis at the conclusion of the NBL25 series when he led the Sydney Kings to the championship, it is his time. The possible realisation of such a prophecy was confirmed by the Kings re-signing Davis to a two-year contract that will ensure the burning desire of being the best continues to flame. In his two years in the league, Davis has been a two-time MVP runner-up to Bryce Cotton but proved to be the ultimate victor with a decisive championship victory over Cotton and the Adelaide 36ers at the end of NBL25. Their rivalry will now be cemented for at least the next two seasons while Davis strives to win his first MVP award and Cotton aspires for a fifth NBL championship. Davis’ competitive nature was matched by his output and made him one of the most exciting players in the league. Although the Kings will require a relatively significant rebuild after an exodus of key reserve pieces, keeping Davis as the star of the team is a positive for the Kings, the league and all who get to watch.
Ben Gold to Tasmania JackJumpers
Position: Centre
From: Marquette Golden Eagles (United States – NCAA Division I)
2025–26 statistics: 8.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, .9 assists, .5 blocks, .7 steals, 40.9% field goal, 65.3% free throw
Announcement link
The Tasmania JackJumpers find their replacement for the freed roster spot previously held by Kobe Williamson and sign Ben Gold for his first professional contract. Gold, a 6’11” centre, has spent the last four years playing college basketball for Marquette including the last two seasons as a starter. Despite his height, Gold possesses some long-range shooting ability by making 32.7% of his three-pointers during his collegiate career. Tall locals are a hot commodity and the JackJumpers finally secure a reserve for their oft-injured Will Magnay.
Alex Higgins-Titsha to Perth Wildcats
Position: Forward
From: Cairns Taipans
2025–26 statistics: 6.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists, .7 blocks, 1.0 steals, 46.0% field goal, 46.2% free throw
Announcement link
The Alex Higgins-Titsha of 2025 looked like he was on the verge of something great. He had joined the Cairns Taipans as a development player that season and emerged with an efficient 6.2 points and 3.9 rebounds in a reserve role. Higgins-Titsha spent time with the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Summer League and returned to the Taipans as a fully-rostered player. However, that next step was to be delayed. He suffered a wrist injury only nine games into the season where he posted similar numbers as his rookie campaign but on lower percentages. The Perth Wildcats will now be the team to enjoy that expected breakout by signing Higgins-Titsha to a three-year contract. With their two starting forward spots covered by imports this upcoming season, there might not be a huge role increase for Higgins-Titsha yet but he will have the room to grow.
David Johnson re-signs with Tasmania JackJumpers
Position: Guard
2025–26 statistics: 12.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, .3 blocks, 1.1 steals, 41.4% field goal, 71.4% free throw
Announcement link
Much has been made of the JackJumpers needing to re-sign their star import guard but instead veer and re-sign their other import guard. David Johnson proved to be a reliable third-option for the JackJumpers this last season and had the potential to do more if not for an injury that caused him to miss a third of the year. The JackJumpers stick with the imports that they believe in and Johnson will come back with the benefit of familiarisation plus something to prove.
Malith Machar re-signs with Melbourne United
Position: Forward
2025–26 statistics: 1.5 points, .5 rebounds, .1 assists, .1 blocks, .0 steals, 36.7% field goal, 60.0% free throw
Announcement link
Melbourne United continue to have no coach but they make the decision to maintain some consistency by re-signing Malith Machar for what will be his fourth season with the team. He appeared in 20 games last season albeit with limited minutes. Wings are the present of the league and Machar has the makings of something great so it will be an opportunity for him to put it all together.
